Wilson &amp; Carol A. Stacey<\/p>\n<p>Foreign Private Issuers (FPI\u2019s) who file using IFRS have been in a conundrum about XBRL because there was no usable IFRS taxonomy. The SEC <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/divisions\/corpfin\/cf-noaction\/2011\/caq040811.htm\"><u>excepted these FPI\u2019s from XBRL<\/u><\/a> until an appropriate taxonomy was developed.<\/p>\n<p>A usable IFRS XBRL taxonomy was formally announced by the SEC on March 1, 2017. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/news\/pressrelease\/2017-58.html\"><u>announcement<\/u><\/a> includes a link to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/rules\/other\/2017\/33-10320.pdf\"><u>IFRS XBRL Taxonomy<\/u><\/a> that FPI\u2019s must use.<\/p>\n<p>The SEC indicated that FPI\u2019s who use IFRS may begin to submit XBRL financial statements immediately, and that they <strong>MUST submit XBRL financial statements for periods ending on or after December 15, 2017<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As always, your thoughts and comments are welcome!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By George M.
