Atkins delivered <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/newsroom\/speeches-statements\/atkins-keynote-remarks-economic-club-washington-042126\">keynote remarks<\/a> at a meeting of the Economic Club of Washington.\u00a0 In his remarks he discussed his ACT strategy:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Advance<\/strong>\u00a0the SEC\u2019s regulatory frameworks into the modern era,<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Clarify<\/strong>\u00a0the SEC\u2019s jurisdictional lines, and<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Transform<\/strong>\u00a0the SEC rulebook by returning it to first principles.<\/p>\n<p>Chairman Atkins\u2019 \u201cadvance\u201d discussion focused on crypto and private market related issues.\u00a0 His \u201cclarify\u201d remarks highlighted the Commission\u2019s recent Memorandum of Understanding with the CFTC.\u00a0 In the \u201ctransform\u201d section he discussed the Enforcement Division\u2019s focus on fraud and holding individuals accountable and included this list of <strong>areas for near-term proposals<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">\u201c(1) adopting a regulatory IPO \u201con-ramp\u201d that supplements the concept that Congress designed in the JOBS Act;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">(2) expanding the existing accommodations that are currently available only for emerging and smaller companies to more businesses;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">(3) providing nearly all public companies with an easier path to \u201cshelf registration,\u201d which allows them to access the public markets quickly and when market conditions are ideal; and<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">(4) giving companies the optionality for a quarterly or semiannual regulatory filing cadence.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As always, your thoughts and comments are welcome!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On April 21, 2026, SEC Chairman Paul S.
