On June 13, 2023, the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, of the U.S. Government\u2019s Office of Management and Budget, released the \u201cSpring 2023 Unified Agenda of Regulatory and Deregulatory Actions,\u201d which includes the short-term<\/a> and long-term<\/a> projects on the SEC\u2019s regulatory agenda.<\/p>\n

In a Statement<\/a> about the agenda, Chair Gary Gensler said:<\/p>\n

\u201cTaken together, the items on this agenda would advance our three-part mission: to protect investors, maintain fair, orderly, and efficient markets, and facilitate capital formation.<\/p>\n

Technology, markets, and business models constantly change. Thus, the nature of the SEC\u2019s work must evolve as the markets we oversee evolve.<\/p>\n

In every generation since President Franklin Roosevelt\u2019s, our Commission has updated its ruleset to meet the challenges of a new hour. Consistent with our legal mandate, guided by economic analysis, and informed by public comment, this agenda reflects the latest step in that long tradition. Thus, I am pleased to support it.\u201d<\/p>\n

As you review the short-term agenda<\/a>, you will find that both the SEC\u2019s climate-related disclosures<\/a> and cybersecurity risk<\/a> projects are scheduled for the final rule process in October 2023.<\/p>\n
